The fight caught attention after Joe Rogan did not enter the Octagon to interview the winner. Though disappointed by not getting a well-earned interview, Sterling found solace in Dana White’s statement. Former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling made his debut in the featherweight division. He took on Calvin Kattar at the famous UFC 300 event. The former champion dominated the battle and registered his first victory in the new division via decision. However, a controversy erupted as Rogan didn’t interview Sterling after his fight. It was speculated that the TV timing could have been the reason for the delay. ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad Dana White later came out and supported his performance. Sterling was impressed with the UFC head and, in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, he shared his opinion on the whole incident. The 34-year-old said, “I didn’t expect him to say that. He easily could’ve been like, ‘Well, we all know how a Sterling fight goes’. He could’ve easily said that and then people would’ve just sh*t all over me again. I thank him for that. That was cool. That’s all I ever wanted, for him to kind of atleast make me somewhat of an ally”.  Do you think Dana White was correct in coming out in support of the former champion?
